The exhibition "Suspended" presents a new side of the work of famous artist Luc Tuymans: his printed work from the nineties until nowadays.
More than a hundred printed images of Luc Tuymans are exposed until the 10th of May 2015. The event is the first to offer only prints by Luc Tuymans, spread over the three floors of the museum. The basis of his printed work begins in creating images that come from different sources including photographs, press clippings or films.
Luc Tuymans was born in 1958 in Antwerp, where he currently lives and works. He studied paint art in Brussels, he experimented with engravings and had a passion for the immediacy of photo and film techniques. After 1985, he rediscovered his love for painting. Tuymans hasn’t stopped painting ever since. Paper art works have become an intrinsic part of his œuvre. He has been experimenting with techniques as well as with supports.
Luc Tuymans is famous primarily for its figurative painting with pastel tones so there is always a special feeling to discover a new side of an artist.
The exhibition at La Louviere is accompanied by a catalog of 288 pages.
