3 Artists-in-residence at The Swatch Art Peace Hotel – Phil Akashi, Kartika Mediani and Martin Romeo displayed their work in Shanghai at the Power Station of Art.

The Power Station of Art invited three artists-in-residence at The Swatch Art Peace Hotel to show their work within the Street Museum, as part of the exhibition, Yona Friedman: Mobile Architecture. The Street Museum is nothing like the traditional museum, but to break its order, challenge its authority, call for emotions and anarchy, welcome daily alive spirit.




MUST SEE:  Sky Ladder by Cai Guo-Qiang

Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang newest installation is called “Sky Ladder”, consisting of a 500 meter long fireworks system attached to a white balloon with helium, that lit up the sky in the small village of Huiyu Island harbour of Quanzhou, China. Cai is known for his explosion events and gunpowder drawings. The artist dedicated this exhibition to his grandmother. Cai stated: “ It touches my heart deeply and it carries the affection for my hometown, friends and family.” The Sky Ladder symbolizes the hope that rises toward the morning sun.
