Aurélien Veyrat is a contemporary sculptor and designer based in Belgium, whose artistic practice transforms discarded construction materials into striking sculptural compositions. Working at the intersection of contemporary art, architecture and collectible design, he explores the expressive potential of materials often overlooked or considered obsolete.

At the heart of his work lies the humble brick. Collected from abandoned stocks, construction sites and industrial leftovers, each brick carries its own history, colour and texture. Through a meticulous process of cutting, assembling and recomposing, Veyrat reveals the unexpected beauty hidden within these ordinary building elements.

His signature Fragments series takes the form of architectural sculptures, columns and geometric structures that evoke archaeological remains, geological strata and imaginary constructions. The rhythmic repetition of shapes, combined with subtle variations in colour and surface, creates a visual language that is both raw and refined.

In his [aglɔmeʀa] series, Veyrat pushes material experimentation further by combining brick fragments with plaster and concrete, creating new composite surfaces with intricate, almost mineral patterns. His research also incorporates reclaimed glass, introducing transparency and light into his exploration of material transformation.

Beyond their sculptural presence, his works question our relationship with architecture, consumption and the passage of time. By giving discarded materials a new identity, Veyrat creates a dialogue between past and present, industrial production and craftsmanship, permanence and transformation.

His sculptures possess a strong architectural identity while retaining a quiet, tactile sensitivity. Whether presented as individual pieces or in dialogue with contemporary interiors, they invite viewers to reconsider the beauty of everyday materials and their relationship with space.

Based at Zaventem Ateliers in Belgium, Aurélien Veyrat has exhibited internationally, including at Milan Design Week, COLLECTIBLE Brussels and ceramic brussels. His work is included in the collections of Mobilier National in France, Design Museum Gent and Galila’s P.O.C. in Belgium.
