Adeline Halot I Deep red

Adeline Halot is a Belgian textile artist whose sculptural practice fuses the tactile richness of weaving with an architectural understanding of space and form. Trained in interior architecture and textile design at La Cambre in Brussels, she has developed a transdisciplinary practice informed equally by artisanal traditions and contemporary visual art.

Working primarily with raw flax linen and metallic wire, Adeline Halotreimagines weaving as a three-dimensional and almost meditative process. Herworks emerge as fluid and organic structures — sometimes ethereal, sometimesmonumental — evoking geological formations, cellular growth, and the intricaterhythms of the living world.

Through her hands, static materials appear to come alive. Fibers capturemovement, tension, and fragility within compositions where light and matterconstantly interact. Rather than imitating nature, the artist seeks totranslate its energies, vibrations, and invisible dynamics.

“What I’m drawn to in these moments of discovery are lines, structures,textures, or surfaces. I try to translate the emotion I feel into my textilesculptures — not to imitate nature, but to echo its energy. I see my weavingsas living beings: together, the threads come to life to form a new body.”

This philosophy guides an intuitive and meticulous process in which each workbecomes a dialogue between tension and release, balance and imbalance, presenceand lightness. Adeline Halot’s sculptures do not simply occupy space; theytransform it, creating moments of stillness, contemplation, and quiet poetry.

Adeline Halot’s work has been exhibited internationally and is included inprivate collections as well as integrated architectural projects. Whethersuspended in space or anchored to a wall, her pieces establish a subtledialogue between ancestral craftsmanship and contemporary design, between thehandmade gesture and timeless presence.

Adeline Halot’s work was recently includedin Dries Van Noten’s new Palazzo presented during the Venice Biennale, furtheraffirming the international recognition of her practice at the intersection ofcontemporary art, design, and architecture.
