Her inspirations range from ancient Egyptian Nagada pottery to Japaneseceramics, Hellenistic forms, and the work of influential artists such as AlevEbüzziya Siesbye and Magdalene Odundo. Although fascinated by clay since childhood, Karen Swami fully committed toceramics in 2009 and earned her professional pottery certification in 2010.Since then, she has developed a distinctive artistic language that combinestraditional craftsmanship with experimental surface techniques.

Her works are characterized by organic forms, natural textures, and earthypalettes ranging from cobalt blues to celadon greens.
