French artist Lorène Cavagna is a ceramist who delves into movement and repetition through her research on glazes. Lorene Cavagna began her ceramic journey in London, where she earned her degree. Two years later, she returned to France, establishing her ceramic workshop in Paris, where she works with stoneware and porcelain.

Fascinated by light, colors, and contrasts, Lorène Cavagna conducts scientific research that allows her to exploit an endlessly varied palette of glazes. The French artist particularly cherishes stoneware for its ability to resist deformation while maintaining surprising delicacy. One of her primary techniques involves handcrafting petals using the slab-building method. The artist creates wall-mounted contemporary ceramic pieces reminiscent of paintings, as well as works that integrate directly into architectural projects. For nearly three years, Lorène Cavagna has been exploring the chemistry of glazes. Each firing provides an opportunity to test, discover, and compose new glazes. She develops combinations of multiple glazes that interact with light, resulting in rich and vibrant colors with infinite variations. To date, she boasts a palette of over 250 unique glazes.
