About Lorene Cavagna

The encounter with clay in 2018 marked a turning point in Lorène's career in London. She joined a BTEC program at the University of Kensington and Chelsea College to become a ceramicist. Initially working from a small workshop space she set up at home, she decided to give more freedom to her practice by joining a studio in Wembley, where she began her research into an aesthetic infused with movement and repeated form. Fascinated by light, colors, and contrasts, her practice led her to explore glazes and the infinite possibilities that this scientific research represents for her.

Lorène Cavagna works with ceramics in architectural projects that integrate surface treatment and the creation of sculptures. The artist explores movement and repetition through research she has been conducting for over two years. She tirelessly develops and tests her glazes, creating rich, vibrant colors with infinite variations; her studio now boasts a palette of more than 250 glazes. With each high firing, she seeks out new combinations, testing and composing according to the results.
